After the posts devoted to the EU and UN, today I will shortly introduce the history of an organization of paramount importance… (Suspense) Ladies and Gentlemen: the World Tourism Organization   Speaking of such a pivotal organization gives the chance to briefly recall when the need was felt to unite strengths and give birth to an international organization for tourism.   Tourism as an industry attracted the interest of governments and individuals since the nineteenth century. In the twentieth century, this interest took concrete form in the first international organization dedicated to tourism. Ciao!   How’s your Monday? Mine is busy, but the mood is high, and I found the time to post for you the sequel of my last post. Never leave something undone ;-)   So, the topic is UN and sustainable tourism. And today’s first topic is The Future We Want. So it’s a good start for the new week, you see! The Future We Want is a resolution dated July 2012 that defines the general framework within which sustainable development is encouraged. It invites all possible stakeholders to work in favor of the Green Economy, and it lists in which sectors to act and how.
